Traveling to and through Florida DAY ONE
Ed and I are on a new kind of journey. I am convinced everything about this trip is right. I was not so certain anytime before now.
On Tuesday we purposely took the longer scenic route through Missouri because we're so tired of interstates. Most specifically, we're done with I-70. It's such a horrible highway, being crowded, old and unappealing to the eye. We had a late start because we are unaccustomed to using our old rooftop carrier and what it's installation involved. Our GPS took us twenty minutes out of our way for a reason only her computer brain knows and we took a thirty minute stop at Cracker Barrel for sandwiches to go, all of which caused us to arrive, exhausted, well after 10 pm at our very nice Comfort Suites in Marion, Illinois. Still, it was all time well spent because the trees are magnificently beginning their change and the sun shone brightly as we took the road less traveled and reveled in God's majesty all around us.
Today we chose to sleep in, have a leisurely breakfast in our room and not leave till eleven, rather than hurry out to make time to visit Lake Kentucky. Instead we are traveling directly to Atlanta, today's destination. We are determined to slow down our physical pace while on this trip. We are determined to give respite to our brains from the daily grind. We are determined to allow ourselves time to soak in the Presence of God in His creation.
Yes, this is different. Most likely it is necessary on many levels. I am thankful for the opportunity.

I am so happy you are seeing the earth and it's beauty with different eyes during this journey.
So happy for both of you.
Love, Jo
