Happy New Year - Everyday

Why is January the time most people choose to re-evaluate their lives and set new goals? Why not do this on the event of our birthday? That's the beginning of a new year. How about the beginning of each month? Again, each one starts a new time period. For that matter so does each week, and each day.
I think it's because of all the fanfare. It just goes to show how the masses are sucked in together by each other. Everybody sets goals together. Everybody does vision boards together.
What if each day we woke up and said to ourselves, this is a new day. Today I can do better than yesterday. Today I can make a fresh start. Today I will set my mind and heart to travel toward my vision because that vision will only become reality by my own choices and actions.
What kind of difference would that outlook make? What kind of year, then?

Solidarity and community support are powerful motivators to keep resolutions.

yes, support is always good. but the first step each day is solitary, for which only we are totally responsible.

I like your theory, mom. New Year's Resolutions hardly ever come to fruition. The same resolutions are made year after year. And every new year, many people say, another year gone, another year wasted. But if you don't look at it as a whole, you would see that there were many days, many hours that made a difference. It's extremely difficult to stick to something for an entire year, but if you take every day, every hour and try to make a difference, the difference will come.
