Forgiveness

Lately I’ve been thinking that forgiveness is the answer to all the world’s problems. Forgiveness of self, of others, of God (as if He deserved to be blamed for anything yet even people who love Him do and that’s okay – He forgives us).

Without getting into religion or theology, the bare bones of forgiveness is this:
If we choose not to forgive we shall become what we hate, what we have not forgiven in another or ourselves.

Not so? Take a look around yourself and the world, and take a look inside, too.

Now imagine each situation and person walking in forgiveness. Different?

Now maybe it’s not the ONLY answer, but it is the first and most critical, to be sure. Greed and pride cause a big chunk of the world’s sadness. But what if even those who live a life of greed and pride were forgiven by everyone else?

And what is the natural outcome of a forgiving situation? Is it lack of sadness and pain? Is it joy? Is it love?

Let’s get a discussion going on this. First, I have not covered all aspects of healing of the world’s issues. I’m thinkin’ that would take a few volumes. Nor do I have all the answers. (That was an intentional gross understatement.) Second, I am sure not everyone will agree with even this much that I’ve shared. And that’s good, too!
