On March 11, 2006, we opened the doors at The Hard Bean Café in
We’ve chosen Saint Patrick’s Day each year to celebrate that event, since Saint Patrick’s Day in the KC Metro is practically a national holiday on a local level.
This means that tomorrow we celebrate our 2nd Birthday!
I thought I’d reflect for a moment today.
It’s been hard. It’s been wonderful.
I wouldn’t want to do it all over again. I wouldn’t want to have missed one minute.
Some days I would love to walk away and never again set foot inside. On other days I want to open that shop every single day for the rest of my life.
It’s been the hardest of times and the best of times.
I am thankful for every single person I’ve met because of this business.
I am thankful for the family relationships that have only been strengthened through our new business relationship.
I am thankful for the business lessons learned.
I am thankful that my leadership abilities have been strengthened as a result of co-ownership of this business.
I am thankful for my greatly expanded comfort zone and that I have stepped toward many new horizons I never dreamed of two years ago.
Overall, the birthday of The Hard Bean Café in
I thank God for that. And I thank Him for sending each person who has helped to make it so. And I thank Him for two of the best business partners anyone could ask for.
Happy Birthday, Hard Bean!
