Kaleidoscope Perspectives

For Christmas Annie gave me a kaleidoscope in a lovely hand carved case. I pick it up several times a day to look at something ordinary in our house or through the window.

If we look at our circumstances from the same angle everyday, or even if we ‘expand’ our thinking to two or three angles, it can look pretty much the same. This can be good if we’re happy where we are. It can be bleak if we’re desperate for change.

I like to think that employing a kaleidoscope perspective to our life might make a vast difference. Through the light of prayer and meditation and the energy of brainstorming with family, friends and business partners, endless combinations and pathways become open to us. Those new routes or plans or thoughts can be more beautiful and exciting than we ever imagined through our eyes alone.

When I look through my pretty kaleidoscope, the object of my view, regardless of how perfect it seemed, becomes extraordinary with countless combinations to make it more so.
I am reminded of the potential all around me if I only take the time to change my outlook or attitude through prayer and creative conversations with others.
And I smile. But not in the same way I did a few moments earlier.

Yay! I'm glad you are able to use the kaleidoscope to see the beauty and unending possibilities in the most ordinary of things. Love you! :)
