Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day in these United States of America. It is a day set aside to give thanks for family and friends. For shelter and food. For the many freedoms we have the privilege to enjoy here, not the least of which is the freedom to worship God as we choose. That freedom to worship God is central to the theme of Thanksgiving Day because God is the One to whom it is meant we give this thanks. Sadly, this understanding is slowly becoming lost in our culture that has become more God-less each day as it is coupled with a growing mindset of tolerance, separation of church and state. Neither of these two philosophies are wrong. However, their use has been twisted in the last decade or so to change the face of our nation in a way that may not be in the best interest of its past or future.
But this is not a political blog, to be certain. I only want to mention that we should attempt to remember that Thanksgiving Day is meant to be a day to give thanks to God, the Creator of the Universe.
Happy Thanksgiving!
(i really did write this the day BEFORE Thanksgiving, even tho it is being poste the date AFTER. Mea Culpa.)
